The concept of tradition invokes a notion of cyclicality, of a recurring ritual that remains intentionally unchanged. Solace is found in the grounding effect of repetition: the world is a maelstrom and tradition an island.
Of course, not all traditions are initiated with this express purpose by their originators. This is, in fact, true in most cases. Repetition and consistency cement themselves often by accident. The ritual is undertaken not for the sake of establishing a persistent pattern but simply because it is a good idea in itself.
Upon establishment, the tradition’s justification warps inward and begins to presuppose itself. The deed is complete because it is tradition to do so.
It is done this way because that is the way it has always been done.

For glitch.cool, this is not a trap into which we allow ourselves to fall. Novelty is, conversely, a tradition for us. The terrain of glitch is rich and varied and it would be shameful to never venture further. It is this precise commitment to a particular aesthetic that lets us unearth the artistic treasures within.
Glitch With Friends: Compilation Volume 3 is, for us, the latest ritual in a tradition in which a key constant is an inexorable expansion of our own horizons.

As with the previous entries to the series, each song is crafted solely from the respective sample pack; in this case: Glitch With Friends: Samples Volume 3. That pack - itself an exercise in collective envelope-pushing - provides the perfect sonic palette for this eclectic release.
Multidimensional basslines and deeply textural glitch wrap around pulsing beats that meander between frenetic and lumbering. Grooves give way to unrepentant walls of meticulously sculpted sound design: a blend of ambient, noise, and drone that almost certainly resembles a post-digital acapella where the human voice is replaced with digital textures.
We hear nostalgic and retrospective tributes alongside modern bass-oriented styles, where cutting-edge sound design is recontextualized into forms reminiscent of the genres latent in HYPERGLITCH’s genetic code.
In this way, we hope to showcase our roots as well as our horizons, paying tribute to the IDM, clicks and cuts, and ambient of the 90s and 00s while exploring the exciting new landscapes glitch art and the surrounding genres continue to offer.

It is only fitting that our best and weirdest sample pack yet was transformed into our best and weirdest compilation yet. We sincerely hope you derive as much enjoyment from listening to this as we did from creating it.
